OBITUARY :
MRS. FLORENCE MARGARET (MOBERLY) BINAU, 92, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Coffman Nursing Home.
Born April 10, 1919, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Mary Margaret "Mamie Ruth" Moberly and Wilbur Marion Moberly, and the niece of George Herman "Babe" Ruth, who was the brother of Mary Margaret "Mamie Ruth" Moberly.
Florence was Roman Catholic.
Her husband, Robinson John Binau Jr.; son, Robert John Binau; and two infant brothers preceded her in death.
Florence is survived by one daughter, Janice Ruth (Binau) McNamee; one granddaughter, April Lynn (McNamee) Startzman and husband, Bryan; two great-granddaughters, Bethany Ruth Startzman and Maria Shannon Startzman; and Binau nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to a memorial Mass of Christian burial Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at St. Ann Catholic Church Chapel, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Martin Nocchi will be celebrant. The Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund, Coffman Nursing Home, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742; or to the Babe Ruth Birthplace Foundation, 216 Emory St., Baltimore, MD 21230.
Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.
