Viola Mae Roscoe September 24, 2011 Viola Mae Roscoe, 84, formerly of Jamesville, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gladys (Field) Butler. Mrs. Roscoe was employed by General Electric and also worked for Vega Industries and Carrier Corp. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. Viola's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Van Duyn for the wonderful care they provided. Viola is survived by two sons, Jon (Barbara) Rogers of LaFayette and Ronald (Lisa) Rogers of Marietta; two daughters, Teresa (Herman) Buck-Bieling of LaFayette and Barbara Moses of Nedrow; 13 grandchildren, Teresa Mech, Paul Buck, Jeffrey Buck, Harvey Moses Jr., Steven Moses, Debbie Walton, Jon Rogers II, Ronald Rogers II, Jeremy Rogers, Rebecca Ramsden, Raymond Ramsden II, Robert Ramsden and Michelle Dornes; 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and her "adopted son" Bruce Stagg. She was preceded in death by her first husband,, Lloyd Spencer Rogers, in 1993; daughter, Rebecca Dornes, in 2009; two brothers, Paul Butler, in 2011 and Frederick Butler, in 2008; and two grandchildren, Carrie Moses, in 2003 and Jason Buck, in 2005. Private services, for family only, will be held Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane, LaFayette. There will be a public celebration of Viola's life on Saturday, October 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at LaFayette VFW Post 1955, 2456 Route 11, LaFayette. Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
