Samuel Reese Covington, 15, of Hilliard, Fla., died on Friday (April 30, 2004).
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 4 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hilliard. Interment followed in Oakwood Cemetery. The family received friends on Monday, May 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Callahan Funeral Home.
Mr. Covington was a ninth grade student at Hilliard Middle/Senior High School in Florida.
Surviving are his parents, Stephen and Dena Covington of Hilliard, Fla.; brother, Stephen Covington II of the home; maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Vorp of Jacksonville, Fla.; paternal grandparents, James Oswald and Mary Agnes Covington of Aberdeen; aunts, Barbara Vorpe of Jacksonville, Fla., and Phyllis Jones of Jackson Springs; and cousins, Andrea Jones of Jackson Springs and Melissa Schlee of Apex.
