Rose was co-founder of McLain Bakery, founded in September, 1945. She and her husband Bill worked at the bakery before retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), member of the Retail Bakers of Greater Kansas City, MO, and the Kansas Bakers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Bill" McLain, Sr., and granddaughter, Jaclynn S. Collett.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John W. "Jack" and Jo Ann McLain, Overland Park, KS; grandson and his wife, Michael S. and Helen McLain, Prairie Village, KS; granddaughter and her husband, Julie A. and Nick Heng, Overland Park, KS; great-granddaughter, Carrie Collett; great-grandsons, Nathan and Jonah Heng, all of Overland Park, KS.
