Willie was the son of James L. Devore and Lillie (Boardman) Devore Legg and husband of Mary Jane (Tucker) Devore.

William Henry DeVore, 58, of
Pliny was killed about 11:10
p. m. Friday when he was struck
by two cars while walking on
W. Va-. 17 in Mason County.
Authorities said DeVore was
walking in the center of the
right lane when a car driven
by Lawrence J. Grogan, 47,
of Beaver struck the victim,
The impact threw DeVore in-
to the path of car being
driven by Mrs. Geneva A.
Shave, 23. of Lima, Ohio.
According to deputies. Grogan
said he was traveling about 60
miles per hour and saw the vicim
too late. Grogan was quoted
as saying the night was foggy
and visibility was bad.
SERVICE for DeVore will be
conducted at 2 p. m. Monday
at the Pliny Presbyterian
Church. Burial will be in the
church cemetery. He was a retired
employe of the Chesapeake
and Ohio Railway Co.
DeVore's survivors include his
widow: Mary Jane: son, James
at home; sister, Gladys of Marion,
Ohio; half-sister, Mrs. Clara
DeVore of Pliny. The body is at
Chapman - Erskine Funeral
Home in Winfield.
