Frank M. Witte, 77, 39 Washington Blvd., died at 2:30 a.m., Monday in Mercy Hospital. He suffered a heart attack at 11:30 p.m. Sunday, at home, and was removed to the hospital. His death was sudden and unexpected, and comes as a shock to his family and many friends. Born in Cincinnati on May 12, 1884, the son of Henry and Anna Kronelege Witte, he came to Hamilton with his family at an early age. Mr. Witte was a member of St. Stephen Church for 72 years where he received his first communion, confirmation, and was married. He was educated in St. Stephen School. A member of the Holy Name Society, Mr. Witte married Mae Dubbs in 1942, and she preceded him in death on March 10, 1954. He married Harriet Cory on July 7, 1956, in St. Stephen Church. A kind and devoted husband, Mr. Witte was fond of gardening and was justly proud of his yard and flowers. He was a genial man, with a warm personality and winning ways, and enjoyed a large circle of friends. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge of Hamilton since 1914. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Harriet Cory Witte, several nephews and nieces, and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Witte, and a sister, Mrs. Clara Stone. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Michael J. Colligan Funeral Home, 437 S. Third St., followed at 10:30 o'clock by Requiem High Mass in St. Stephen Church. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
