Father had served as pastor at St. Mary's Catholic Church since June of 2001.he was ordained as a priest for the Diocese of Oklahoma City and Tulsa on May 31, 1969. He has also served as associate pastor and pastor of more than 20 churches across the state.
A published author, O'Toole has penned the book "The Church Learns-The People Learn" and articles entitled, "Why Worship at All?," "The Celibate Counseling Situation" and "Therapeutic Preaching." He is certified by the National Society of Fund Raising Executives and has done extensive post-graduate work.

Ardmore β A Funeral Mass for Father Thomas O'Toole will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Archbishop Eusebius Beltran officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery with Father Russell Hughes officiating. Wake services are 6 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Father O'Toole is survived by one sister, Patricia Nichols of Redondo Beach, Calif.; a niece, Regina Marie Nichols Ibechem of Harbor City, Calif.; and a nephew, Michael Gary Nichols of Chicago, Ill. He also is survived by a great-niece, Tyler Marie Nichols and great-nephew, Michael Damien Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jeff Rother, Juan Jimenez, Earl McDonald, Matthew Urbanosky, Michael Anderson, Ryan Hunnicutt, Nathan Juarez and Eugene Riotte.
Honorary Bearers will be Dick Kearney, Lovell McMillin, Bill Swatzel, Charlie Tanner, Mark Urbanolsky and Michael Nichols.
Father O'Toole requested no flowers at his service. He wanted memorials left to St. Mary's Church in Ardmore or the Archdiocese of Oklahoma or the Saint Mary's Purgatory Society.
Craddock Funeral Home and Harvey Douglas Funeral Home will direct services.
