Mr. Rowland resided in the Dumas area for sixty years. He was born October 2, 1897 at the small community of Jersey, Arkansas in Bradley County and was a son of the late Steve and Mattie King Rowland.
Mr. Rowland was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas and was a Mason.
Doyle Rowland is survived at the time of his death by his beloved wife, Ollie Horton Rowland; one son, Steve Rowland of Midland, Texas. One daughter, Linda Rogers of West Memphis, Arkansas. One Brother, I. N. Rowland of Jacksonville, AR.; one sister, Mrs. Annie Ray Rowland of Dumas, and five grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Dumas, Arkansas with Reverend Bob Presley, Dr. Earl Hughes, and Fred Arnold officiating the packed house service.
Burial is at the Walnut Lake Cemetery at Pickens, Arkansas south of Dumas, Arkansas.
