Asaph married Honor Goodrich just before November 12, 1799 in Hancock, Berkshire County, Massachusetts and they stayed in Massachusetts a few years before settling in Painted Post, Steuben County, New York by 1804 and raising their family there.
Asaph and Honor had a daughter, Sarah, born at Painted Post in 1807 and a son, Issachar, born there in 1815. It appears that Asaph had at least 5 other sons and another daughter or two but not all by his first wife, Honor.
Late in his life, Asaph moved to Knox County Ohio near the town of Fredericktown and son Issachar also settled there. The 5 other potential sons who also came to Knox County were; James Harvey, Benjamin F, Jonathan T, Augustus and William.
In all, Asaph and Honor had 9 children: James, Benjamin, Jonathan, George, Sarah, Rachel, Olive, Alvira and Issachar.
After Honor's death, probably before 1820, Asaph married a second time and had at least 3 more children: Augustus, William and Sally.
Asaph appears in Knox County Ohio in the 1840 US census and died a short time later in 1841. His gravesite inscription is now on the same monument as that of Jonathan Rowley and other members of Jonathan's family.
Probate records in Knox County, Ohio and a collection of land deeds identify all 12 of Asaph's surviving children and clearly show Rachel who later married Stephen Cole as his wife at the time of his death. And Rachel was the guardian for his three youngest children who were still minors at the time of his death.
