Dan was born at Abadene in South Wales on March 18, 1883. He came to the U. S. in 1907 and located in Colorado, working in gold, silver and coal mines over that state during the old boom days.
For 27 years until his retirement Dan had worked for the Santa Fe Railroad.
He was married in August 1911, to Ida Rebecca Belt at Council Grove, Kansas and they lived there for some time and later at various Kansas cities in his work. In 1931 the family moved to Douglass.
To Mr. and Mrs. Roberts were born four children and all these, with the wife, survive. They are ;Mrs. Harry Green of Arkansas City; Mrs. Calvin Parsons of El Dorado; Mrs. Lloyd Smith and William Daniel Roberts of Arkansas City.
There are three grandchildren, Robert and Patricia Green and Billy Dan Smith.
A sister, Mrs. Katherine Khorey resides in Denver, Colorado.
Dan was a member of the Douglass Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star and of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 from the Methodist Church, with Rev. Everett Mitchell, pastor, conducting. Burial was in the Douglass Cemetery in charge of the Hilyard Funeral Home.
