"Death: November 24, 1916, Placerville, El Dorado, CABio: George Medburg Fitch enlisted as a private at Marysville, California, and was mustered into Company I, 7th California Infantry, November 10, 1864. Private Fitch was posted to Arizona Territory. He returned to California with his company and was mustered out at the Presidio of San Francisco March 31, 1866. George filed for a Civil War veteran's pension January 3, 1893, and received application No. 1,144,804 and certificate No. 993,684.
