Gerald L. ‘Jerry' Higginbotham, 72, died Thursday July 29, 2010, at NMMC-West Point. He was born June 17, 1938, in West Point to Iola Smith and John Higginbotham. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from B&W as a C fitter. He was a minister at the Church of God for several years and was a member of the Pentecostal Gospel Light House Pentecostal Church of God.

Services will be 3:30 p.m. Monday at Robinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Monte Crosswhite and the Rev. Robert Henley officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, John Huey Higginbotham of Aberdeen and Benny Bentley of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Pat Clinton of West Point; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Josh Busbin, Jamie Busbin, Jason Hannah, Doug Hannah, Elvis Strickland, Elvis Strickland II, Treavor Hill and Tim Williams.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home Monday.
