From the Chicago Daily Tribune, April 14, 1946:
Lloyd Milton Mcclure, Beardstown, Ill., April 13 (AP) - Lloyd Milton McClure, 55, recently appointed a commissioner of the Illinois Court of Claims by Gov. Green, died at his home here late this afternoon. Admitted to the Illinois bar in 1914, he was Cass county state's attorney for eight years and was county judge 13 years. He graduated from Culver Military academy and studied law in the office of his father, Milton McClure. He served as an army lieutenant in World War I.

From the History of Cass County Illinois - 1915:
McClure, Lloyd M., who was born in Beardstown, Ill., May 31, 1890, is a son of Milton and Rose (Orwig) McClure. The family history appears in this work. Lloyd M. McClure received his early educational training in the common and high schools of his native town and subsequently entered the Culver (Ind.) Military Academy, where he was graduated in the scientific course with the class of 1910. Returning then to Beardstown he applied himself to the study of law with his father, afterwards pursuing a three-year course in a law school. Since completing this Mr. McClure has had charge of his late father's extensive law practice, which he has conducted with marked ability, preserving the high reputation of his lamented sire, whose death occurred April 9, 1913. His mother is still a resident of Beardstown and is highly respected by a large circle of acquaintances. Mr. McClure is a young man of notable talent and creditable culture, and gives early promise of a successful career. Mr. McClure is connected with the Congregational church, in which his father was a shining light. Politically he gives a firm support to the policies of the Republican party.

From the Illinoian-Star newspaper, December 4, 1916, Beardstown, Illinois: Newly Elected County Officers Begin Their Official Duties Today. Atty. L.M. McClure of this city, the only Republican elected to county office at the last general election - and chosen by the largest majority even given a Republican candidate in Cass county - begins his duties as States Attorney today. Mr. McClure and Dr. Lyons of Ashland, elected coroner, to succeed George Barneycastle are the only new county officials as a result of the election. All of the new elected officers have duly qualified and today were formerly sworn into office. The officers reelected are L.D. Springer, circuit clerk, A.D. Millard, county surveyor, and Robt. Louden, county commissioner. There will be no inaugural ball, neither will there be any sort of demonstration at the county court house. Each one of the newly elected officers will of course receive many congratulations during the day, as they take hold of their new duties, but nothing more. Mr. Barneycastle who retires as coroner will now devote his entire time to his work at the Burlington shops. Mr. Lucas after having served as state's attorney for the past eight years, has already forged a partnership with his brother Attorney Scott Lucas at Havana and will give his time to the practice of law. While he has moved from the county Mr. Lucas plans to maintain an office at Chandlerville which he will keep open one day each week. He expects to continue to practice in the Cass county courts. The oath of office was administered by Clerk Henry Jacobs and Charles E. Martin, county judge.

According to the 1913 Beardstown City Directory, Lloyd Milton McClure lived at 817 State street, Beardstown, Illinois. As of October 2014, a newer home stands on this lot, but the home is still in the ownership of the McClure family. Also in 1913, Mr. McClure worked at 117 1/2 Main street, which was the family's law firm. Today, that lot is a parking lot and park.
