Marie Sogl, my Oma, sold flowers, planters made of tires and vegetables on Ridgedale Avenue for many years. Born in Czechoslovakia, she and my mother survived the war - and lived to tell us many wonderful stories! Oma was the smartest in all her classes and always wanted me to be a teacher - and I became one for her ... and my parents. (more later ...)
