Charles Otto Quade, 67, Rte. 3, Edgerton. a farmer for 40 years, most of that time near Afton, died unexpectedly at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in Edgerton Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health three months.

Born in Center Township March 19, 1898, he was the son of Herman and Ernestine Helmer Quade. He was marries April 8, 1920, in Rockford to Mabel Koesters, who died May 1, 1960. On Sept. 30, 1961, he married Margaret Fisher Kettle.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Floyd and Donald, both of Janesville; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Playter, Janesville, and Mrs. Louis Woodstock, Rte. 2, Evansville; 12 grandchildren; four step-sons, Donald Kettle, Whitewater, Gerald Kettle, Milton Junction, Arthur and Neil Kettle, Janesville; 18 step-grandchildren; and four brothers, Edward, Frank, Herman and Fred Quade, Fort Atkinson. A brother, Emil, died in 1961.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
