Bruce Edward Wilson

Bruce Edward Wilson, 59, a retired North Hudson Regional Fire Department Battalion Chief, entered peacefully into rest, surrounded by his family, on August 11,2009, after complications from a heart attack.

Bruce, the beloved son of Edward and Dorothy Wilson, of Naples, Florida, formerly of West New York, NJ, was born on February 25,1950 in Jersey City, NJ.

He leaves behind:
his loving daughters, Jennifer Marie Wilson and her fiance, Bryan Sanders, of San Diego, California, and Nicole Elizabeth Wilson Brunner and her husband, Matthew, of Citrus Springs, Florida.

Also feeling his loss are:
his step-daughters, P.F.C. Susan Jernstedt of Afganistan, Allison Rose Monahan-Griffith and her daughter, Madison Rose Stretz.

Bruce leaves behind five sisters and brothers: Maureen Mirabilio and her husband, Robert, of Sparta, NJ, Gary Wilson and his wife, Joan, of Jersey City, NJ, Kevin Wilson and his wife, Ellen, of Acworth, Georgia, Barbara Laetzo and her husband, Glenn, of Chester, New York, and Kathleen Smith and her husband, Kevin, of Naples, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.

Bruce was a Vietnam Vet serving in the Navy on the USS Mulinex and the USS Guam. After serving in the war, he worked at Sier Bath, in North Bergen, before joining the Fire Department in West New York, NJ.

Bruce, who was as generous in death as he was in life, gave the gift of life to others by donating his organs. He will be deeply missed and thought of with joy and laughter by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation on Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A celebration service to be held there on Saturday, August
15, at 2:00 p.m.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at CJ's to continue that celebration. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to the Department Widow and Orphan Fund.
