Olympic Athlete. Real name David Lester Laut. A native of Ohio, he was a shot putter and one-time Bronze medalist at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. His other notable achievements include winning a gold medal at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan, and another bronze medal at the 1981 IAAF World Cup in Rome, Italy. His personal best throw in the Men's Shot Put was 22.02 metres, which was achieved at Koblenz, Germany, in 1982. Laut later served as the Athletic Director of the Oxnard Union High School District and the Hueneme High School. He is a member of the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame. He was murdered by an armed prowler in his home in Oxnard, California.
