WELLSVILLE - Raymond J. Means, 81, of Campground Road, Wellsville, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at East Liverpool City Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1928, in Wellsville, a son of the late James F. and Andree (Andourd) Means.

Ray served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a self-employed barber for 46 years, retiring in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Kathaleen (Groves) Means, whom he married July 12, 1975; four daughters, Brenda Messer and her husband, Dexter, of Weston, W.Va., Nancy Davidson of Wellsville, Peggy MacLean and her husband, Jeff, of Wellsville and Reba Bishop and her husband, Kevin, of Wellsville; one son, Raymond L. Means and wife, Phyllis, of Lordstown, Ohio; three stepdaughters, Becky Luckino and her husband, Angelo, Barbara Nightingale and her husband, Darrel, and Mary DeLauder and her husband, Kenny, all of Wellsville; one stepson, Robert Osborn and his wife, Gerry, also of Wellsville; 18 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

To honor the family's wishes, no visitation or funeral services are scheduled. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The Roberts Funeral Home, 631 Main St., Wellsville, is in charge of arrangements.
