Born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., he had lived in Palatka for 12 years, coming from Green Cove Springs, where he lived from 1944 to 1984. He was a member of Orange Street Baptist Church in Green Cove Springs and had retired after 36 years as a car salesman with Bozard Ford in St. Augustine.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Freda Mooney Taylor of Palatka; son, E. Marvin Taylor Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and R. L. Glisson of Palatka; sisters, Dorothy Kernodle and Jessie Taylor, both of Burlington, N.C., and Rachel McGrath of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Edward Taylor of Green Cove Springs and Robert Alton Taylor of San Diego; two grandchildren;two great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday at Orange Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Wrigley officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs.
