FORMER TEXICO RESIDENT TO BE BURIED HERE
The body of Clarence A. McGill is expected to arrive here Thursday or Friday from the west coast, where he died in a Navy Hospital at Corona, Calif., and will be buried in the Texico Cemetery.
McGill, who was 58 at the time of his death, was a veteran of World War I, and lived for many years in Texico. About ten years ago, he and his wife, the former Mrs. Mae Evett moved to Mancos, Colo. He has been hospitalized most of the time the past year in the Navy Hospital at Corona.
Funeral arrangements were pending here and the only announcement that could be definitely stated was that he would be buried in the Texico Cemetery.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs.Mae McGill, a step-daughter, Mrs. Jim Allen of Mancos, Colorado; one brother; Homer, of Chandler, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs E. W. McGuire, of Farwell and Mrs J. H. Nell, of Vernon, Texas.

MCGILL RITES HELD HERE ON FRIDAY
Funeral services for Clarence A. McGill, 58, who died in a Navy Hospital at Corona, California, were conducted at the Baptist Church last Friday afternoon by Rev. Virgil E. Hunton. An escort of the Veterans of Foreign Wars from the Clovis Post, was in charge of the body and conducted commitment rites at the graveside. Burial was made in the Texico Cemetery.
Mrs. McGill, wife of the deceased of Mancos, Colorado, accompanied the body here from California.
Out of town relatives who were here for the funeral included a brother, Homer McGill of Chandler Field, Arizona, A sister, Mrs. J. H. Niell of Vernon, Texas; E. W. McGuire and son Jimmie Ed, who are spending the winter in Coachella, California; Mr. & Mrs. Jim Allen, of Mancos, Colo.; Mr. & Mrs. J. M. Miller, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Miller and Mrs. Bill Briscoe, all of Artesia, NM. E. W. McGuire, sister of deceased, who is in California, was unable to be present for the funeral.

Gravesite Details
The military marker was found in Amarillo, TX and brought to the cemetery on Dec. 13, 2019 and placed on his grave. Unknown why it was in Amarillo, but information seemed to be correct.
