"Rites for Louis Victor (Chief) Bruere, 66, of 1332 E. 66th Place, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Tulsa-Whisenhunt Funeral Home.
"Owner of Bruere Business Forms 904 S. Elwood Ave. he died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday in a local hospital. A native of Catoosa, Bruere had spent his entire life, with the exception of a few years in Oregon, in this area.
"He was an early-day Tulsa streetcar operator and one of the first bus drivers in the Tulsa bus system. In 1933, he founded the business forms firm and was later joined by a son, Louis Bruere, Jr. of 10140 E. 4th Place.
"Bruere was a member of the Downtown Tulsa Lions Club, the American Federation of Indians and the Bellaire Christian Church.
"Others surviving are the widow, Cora Mae; two sisters, Mrs. Clara Meritt, Myrtle Creek, Ore. and Mrs. Susie Anderton, Los Angeles, and a grandson.
"Interment will be in Memorial park."
