Mary Goering Schrag, daughter of Peter and Mary Stucky Goering was born April 14, 1882, in McPherson County, Kansas. Here she grew to womanhood and recievrd her training. She was baptized upon her confession and faith and was reieved as a member in the Hopefield Mennonite Church on Septenber 5, 1897; and was recrived into the Eden Mennonite Churchg on January 14, 1934, where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was united in marriage with Peter J. Schrag on October 27, 1899, after which she lived on a farm with her husband in Harvey County Kansas. This home was blessed with seven children; Edward P.; Anna, Mrs Carl G. Krehbiel; Marie Mrs. Otto J. Waltner; Philip; Waldo; and Olga, Mrs. Menno M. Krehbiel.

Her desire was that each member of the family might live a true Christian life and some day be united again in the eternal home. Her life was saddened by the death of her husband on December 12, 1944, and the loss of her oldest son, Edward, who passed away June 17, 1938. She passed away in Mercy Hospital on June 24, 1958, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 10 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her 6 hildren, her daughters-in-law and sons-in-law; Martha, Mrs. Edward P. Schrag; Karl G. Krehbiel, Ray J. Kaufman; Otto J. Waltner; Olga, Mrs Philip Schrag; Leona, Mrs Waldo Schrag; and Menno M. Krehbiel; 49 grandchildren (4 preceded her in death) 35 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 6 sisters Anna, Mrs Jacob P. Kaufman, Elizabeth, Mrs Joe J. Schrag; John P. Goering; Lena, Mrs. P.R. Stucky; Ida, Mrs Jacob P. Stucky; Mathlida, Mrs Dan D. Kaufmamn; and Peter Goering; 3 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law; (3 sisters preceded her in death) and many relatives and friends,
