Funeral services for Donald D. Davis, Sr. were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 1995 at the First Assembly of God Church, 124 2nd St., Rock Springs. The Rev. Jesse C. Ybarra conducted the services. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Davis, 67, of 830 D St., Rock Springs, died at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County where he had been a patient since Sept. 23.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Davis had been in ill health the past several months.
He was born Dec. 17, 1927 in Scottsbluff, Neb., the son of the late George Guy and Vida Denise Spahr Davis. He attended schools in Pavilion and was a graduated of Pavilion High School with the class of 1946.
Davis was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Philippines.
He married the former Ila Mae Shoopman in Thermopolis on March 11, 1949.
Davis retired in January of 1993 as a heavy equipment operator for the Mountain Fuel Supply Company and Questar where he worked for 25 years.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Ila Mae Davis of Rock Springs; one son, Donald Davis Jr. of Rock Springs; four daughters, Barbara Jean Stanton of Riverton, Linda Diane Harris of Napa, Idaho, Deloris Dea Skewes of Duchesne, Utah and Patricia Mae Davis of Rock Springs; one brother, the Rev. Robert Davis of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sisters, Barbara Jean Davis of Seattle and Lois Kay Annon of Riverton; 1? grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, several other grandchildren through marriage and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Davis was preceded in death by one daughter, Toni L. Davis who died on Feb. 6, 1987 and two brothers, Marvin Guy Davis and Clinton Davis.
