Francis C. Tool, 91, of rural Roodhouse, died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2008, at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born Jan. 14, 1917, in New Concord, Ohio, a son of Milford C. and Golden A. Tom Tool. He married Helena Ferne Ruby on July 27, 1940, in Louisville, Ky., and she survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jim (wife, Shasta) of rural Roodhouse; four grandchildren, Dan (wife, Terri) Tool, Deborah Sexton (friend, David Range), Jason (wife, Stephanie) Cummins and Matt (wife, Andrea) Cummins; eight great-grandchildren, Bryar Tool, Ellissa and Jacob Sexton, Josh and Garner Cummins and Madelyn, Nathan and Ian Cummins; three sisters, Hazel Roos of Monticello, Jane Hess of Deland, Fla., and June Turner of Debary, Fla.; and two brothers, George (wife, Virginia) of Clinton and Joe of Rich Hill, Mo.
Mr. Tool was a retired farmer, a member of the Farm Bureau and the Athensville Baptist Church.
Friends may call at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial at Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Athensville Baptist Church or Northwestern Rescue Squad.
