Donald Earl Bedwell born on January 9, 1951 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan and died on February 11, 2024 in Royal Oak, Oakland, Michigan.
He went to high school at Dearborn High, after he graduated, he went into the service at the later part of Vietnam war. He was trained as an Aircraft Rotary and Prop Repairman. He completed over 25 aerial missions as a combat door gunman. Don left the army as an E5 Sargeant and received multiple commendations including the bronze medal for heroism.
After he returned home to Dearborn Michigan, he was hired by Ford Motor Company. He worked there for 35 years as a senior lab technician and retired in 2006. In his retirement Don enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman, who also enjoyed collecting antiques and gunsmithing. Don was an expert genealogist, so when he wasn't up north camping with his family, he was helping thousands of people online with their family ancestry and writing memorials.
Don is survived by his loving wife Rebecca Jane Bedwell, daughter Angela (Aaron Owsley) Owsley, Son Ronald (Lynnae Bryant) Batchelor, Sisters Nancy Buchanan, Janice Denell, brother Darryl Bedwell, and grandson GracinOwsley.
He is preceded in death by his parents Donald Raymond Bedwell, Evelyn Irene Bedwell, two brothers, Dale Bedwell and Gary David Bedwell, and stepbrother Danny Lee Lowe Bedwell.
In accordance with Donald's wishes, he will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on February 16, 2024.
