Archie Malcolm Gerald, Sr. of Latta went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2023 at the Dillon Church of God with burial in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Malcolm was born in Florence, SC on January 1, 1952, he is the son of the late Mary Ann Scott Gerald and Alex Gerald.
Malcolm loved playing baseball and football for Latta High and coaching any sport his children were involved. He enjoyed life, working for the the Latta Police Department and working his way up to Chief of Police. He also enjoyed working as a Deputy Sheriff. He enjoyed bologna sandwiches, pepsi, and the Young and Restless. When Mrs. Chandler passed away, Latta officers gave him a condolence card and asked him if he needed 3 days. He loved his Latta family and the citizens of Latta.
Malcolm is survived by his wife, Pat of almost 50 years; and his children, Natalie Gerald of Latta and Malcolm "Mac" Gerald, Jr. (Candy) of Holly Hill, SC. He adored all children especially his grandchildren, Alea Cook and Elex Cook of the home, Jonathan Gerald of Italy, Gunnar, Anthony, and Avery Gerald of Holly Hill; his special niece, Tammy (Hans) Mullinax of Latta; special nephew, John Gerald of Florida; He was blessed with other nieces and nephews.
Malcolm was preceded in death by his sister, Sallie Frances Gerald Cain; and his brother, Henry Gerald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Latta Police Department, and the Latta Rescue Squad.
