Wanda was the third of 4 children born to Dorothy and Wayne Thompson.
She grew up on the family farm in Seymour, Iowa and graduated from Seymour HS in 1956. She married George "GW" Childers twice, and they lived in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, CO most of their married lives.
Wanda died at the Joni Fair Hospice House in Pueblo, July 11, 2023. She had been declared incapacitated from Alzheimer's disease.
She is survived by nieces Valerie L Thompson of St. Louis MO, Theresa K Esco of Glendale AZ, Jeri K Schiffman of Elkader IA, and Doris Newport of Gold Coast, Australia.
