Merilou Parker Rushing was born on July 28, 1940, in Hawaii to Bill and Hazel Parker. She passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2005. The family relocated to Fresno where she met and married Gary Rushing, and together they had two wonderful children. Merilou was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved gardening, going on cruises and spending time with her family. Merilou was preceded in death by her father, Bill Parker; her mother, Hazel Leas; and stepfather, Hambleton Leas. She is survived by her loving family, a son, Eric Rushing and his wife Gina of Fresno; a daughter, Brenda Rankin and her husband Claude; three beautiful grandchildren whom she adored with all her heart, Christopher, Corinne and Caylin, all of Bakersfield, uncle Thurston Robinson of Hawaii. A private funeral service will be held in Hawaii.
