Amalia Quinones Aaron, 73 of Carbondale passed away at 10:57 a.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her residence. Amalia was born October 4, 1949 in Manati, Puerto Rico to Juan and Filomena (Olivares) Quinones. She married Willie Aaron in Chicago, Illinois. They have been married for over 49 years. Amalia was retired, having been employed as a caregiver for several years. She was employed while living in Chicago at American Airlines. Amalia was a member of the Fellowship In Christ Christian Church in Carterville. Amalia was always willing to volunteer her time and energy in helping someone. She could often be seen volunteering at Victory Outreach in Carbondale. She enjoyed dancing, singing and cooking for her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she would do anything they would ask of her; she would often cook pancakes for them after 10:00 p.m.. Survivors include her husband Willie Aaron of Carbondale; three sons, Angel M. (Katherine) Robles of Chicago, Armando (Sarah) Quinones of Johnston City and Angel L. Sanchez of Carbondale; four step-children, Willie (Shantell) Williams of Dallas, TX., Lisa Hickman of Phoenix, AZ., Mario Hickman of Michigan and Sharonda Hooker of Terra Haute, IN.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive along with several siblings and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023 at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Zach Bollman officiating. Cremation.
