Seth served during the Spanish-American War and wasn't happy with his responsibilities as an officer (Lieutenant). He got the nickname "Happy," which he obviously wasn't and ended his life by committing suicide at the Winton Hotel in Winchester, KY, never married, in 1927. We don't know the suicide was connected to the war or his life in general.
