He lived in East Hanover for the past 55 years. He worked as a 1st class lineman for J.C.P.& L in Morristown for 36 years prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church in East Hanover. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran, and a member of V.F.W. Post # 3401 in Morris Plains. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Stickle Genung; son, Robert Genung and wife, Lynda; two daughters, Debora Blanchard-Artiglier and husband, John, and Nancy Genung; three grandchildren, Tracey, Donald, and Bryan Blanchard; six great grandchildren; and sister, Isabel Monik.
