Schooled Karlsgymnasium, Stuttgart, Germany; Latin School, Cambridge, Mass. Graduated from Harvard in 1908. For two years after graduation from college, hewas an assistant in engineering at Harvard and Austin Teaching Fellowship. Then, for several years, he was engaged in practical engineering work, his longest engagement being with Stone & Webster.

He married Grace White Perry in Kentucky on Nov 12 1911. They had one daughter, Dorothy, born Feb 1 1915. From January 1915, until his untimely death in Buffalo, December 7 1918, he was in business as a consulting engineer, first by himself, and later with his brother, Arthur Tyng, Harvard '04.

Julian Tyng was an essentially lovable character, honorable, loyal to the last degree, athlete, musical, and handsome in both form and feeling. He leaves a young wife and child, a father, mother, and five brothers and sisters.
