Mrs. Denevan's career took her to Bovill, Spokane and Moscow before she retired and moved to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley in 1963.

She was born June 18, 1900, at Hallock, Minn., to Scott and Marian Riddell. After being schooled in Minnesota, she entered nurse's training at Mobridge Hospital at Mobridge, S.D., in 1916.

She moved to Idaho in 1919, working as a nurse at a small hospital at Bovill until 1920. She then lived at Spokane until November 1921, working for a short time as a nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital and then as head nurse of the men's floor at Edgecliff Sanitarium.

She married Merle F. Denevan at Spokane Nov. 23, 1921.

The couple moved to Bovill, where she was a homemaker while raising three children. She was also first aid nurse for Potlatch Corp. for many years, and when Bovill was without a doctor, she was the sole provider of health care in the area.

Moving to Moscow in 1953, she worked as a relief nurse at Gritman Memorial Hospital until 1957, when she and her husband assumed management of the new Latah Nursing Home. They retired in 1963 and moved to Clarkston.
