"BAT" MASTERSON'S MOTHER IS DEAD NEAR SUNNYDALE
Mrs. Masterson, mother of "Bat" Masterson, an old settler of this county, died last night, a short time before midnight, at her home near Sunnydale. She was about eighty years of age.
James Cairns of 1221 Carlos avenue, formerly a policeman of this city, is a son-in-law of the deceased. Interment will be made in Highland cemetery and the services will be held Monday.

Mother of Mrs. James Cairnes Died at Sunnydale.
Mrs. Thomas Masterson, mother of Deputy United States Marshall Bat Masterson and of Mrs. James Cairns of this city, died Friday night at her home near Sunnydale, Kan. Her death was caused by paralysis of the brain after an illness of some length. The body was brought to Wichita yesterday and the funeral will be held either Tuesday or Wednesday. Final arrangements could not be made until the son reached here from Albany, N. Y., where he is stationed at present.
Mrs. Masterson's husband accompanied the body to this city and is with his daughter, Mrs. Cairns, at 1221 Carlos avenue.
Mrs. Masterson was 72 years of age at the time of her death and had been a resident of this section of Kansas for over thirty years.
