Mrs. Barbara Jean Spain Abraham, 71, of Petersburg, VA, passed on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 pn, North Dinwiddie, VA. She was a native of Petersburg and was the daughter of the late Robert and Virginia Spain.
She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. She retired from Central State hospital after 34 years. Barbara Jean Spain Abraham enjoyed life to the fullest. Her pastime was spent dancing, singing, reading, playing numbers, talking and helping any and every one. She was a real down to earth person through the ups and downs of life. She loved her family.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Abraham, Sr.; brother-in-law, James Abraham; sister, Rosa Lee Spain McCray; step- mother, Annie Spain and step-sister, Lucille Fisher.
Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Friday, November 9, 2018 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 1021 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Lamont A. Hobbs, Pastor and Rev. Edward L. Fox, Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church, Pastor, eulogist. The interment to at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
