Eva Berniece (Valentine) Barnes (Aug 11 1927 ~ Fen 6 2015)

Eva Berniece Barnes, ages 87, passed away unexpectedly in her home. She had been a resident of Bennett for several years. Eva was born Eva Berniece Valentine; the 9th of 11 children to Russian immigrants, Ivan Valentinov and Anna Molotov. She married Anthony Barnes on February 3 1953. Together they would have four children, and Eva would become a mother figure to her step-son. Eva was dedicated housewife and stay-at-home mom and 'grandmom'.

Eva enjoyed gardening, cooking, horse racing, and reading. But Eva's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, always making sure her home was a warm and welcoming environment that they could consider a second home. Eva will be remembered for her kind, caring, and shoulder to cry on personality and her beautiful gardens.

Survivors include her children; Roger (Ella) Barnes, Ronda Barnes, Darlene Barnes (Jenifer Dunn), Irene Gunman (Mark). A step-son; Tony (Carly) Barnes. Two grandchildren; Wilma Crammer and Clifford Barnes (Melinda). Three great-grandchildren with one "on the way". Sister; Esther Schabb and several nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband Anthony, five brothers, four sisters, three nephews and a niece.
