Model, Actress. She was best known for achieving instant fame in the late 1940's as a model for Vogue magazine and later for her performance as the android 'Verda' in the 1966 'Lost in Space' episodes "The Android Machine" and its sequel, "Revolt of the Androids," which then lead to many television appearances as a popular guest. Born as Donna Lee Higgins to Edgar Higgins and Beatrice Thomas, her early modeling career fame attracted many studio offers, one of which, she signed untested with RKO radio. Soon to follow, she had a big screen debut with Groucho Marx, Gene Lockhart and Don Defore in the RKO film 'A Girl in Every Port'(1952). Her many televison appearances included Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, Burke's Law, The Outer Limits episode 'The Invisibles'(1963), and The Twilight Zone episode 'Bewitchin' Pool'(1964); and most notably with later appearances in 'Batman'(1966) as Miss Iceland opposite Otto Preminger's Mr. Freeze, 'The Time Tunnel'(1966) as Helen of Troy, Land of the Giants(1968) and Lost in Space(1966-69). Her last screen role was in Michael Campus' 1976 thriller 'Survival.'
