Maria Francisca Doroteia Josefa Antónia Gertrudes Rita Joana Efigénia of Braganza (in PT: de Bragança), was a Portuguese infanta, daughter of King José I of Portugal and his wife Mariana Victoria de Borbón. She was proposed to Louis Philippe II, Duke of Orleans (1747-1793), later known as "Philippe Égalité", but she refused to marry him. Her parents also thought of marrying her with Joseph II, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Fernando VI of Spain and with Carlos III of Spain, but she always refused. It is said that she did not have any relations with any man in her life. She passed away young and single with only 31 years of age, in Lisbon.
