Joan’s survivors include her two children: Heather Annette VanHoy of Mechanicsburg, Troy Lynn Adams of Mechanicsburg; her three grandchildren: Zachary Fritz, William “Billy” Adams and Drew VanHoy; her great-grandson: Zachary Fritz, Jr.; her sister, Donna Gordon of York; and several nieces and nephews.
Joan graduated from Northern High School as part of the class of 1966. She worked as a secretary for the Kinney Shoes in Mechanicsburg. She was a member of Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren in Dillsburg. Joan loved to crochete, watch game shows on television and solving word search puzzles. Joan missed her husband, Terry, and is finally reunited with him.
Joan’s family will be celebrating her life privately. Interment in Wolgamuth Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Dillsburg will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to everyone at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center who so lovingly cared for Joan.
