We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Byron Arnold during his 74 years (1946-2020) through his unique personality & character. We will remember him as a talented handyman who offered his services to all who needed them. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and a good mystery book. He could make anything grow in his garden including the banana trees he transplanted through all his many moves. He could always be found with a dog by his side. If he couldn’t find a good deal then he would negotiate one. He was an avid Steelers fan and bled Penn State Blue & White, where he graduated with an Accounting degree. He had a strange love for doing taxes as a CPA, worked as a financial controller in the telecommunications industry, and was a meticulous record keeper and organizer who worked tirelessly for his community. His organizational skills were used for many years for the Haiti food drive in Roswell, Georgia. In recent years he took Jesus to the imprisoned. In retirement he enjoyed fishing in the ocean, going to the beach, and the warmth of Florida. As a connoisseur of wine, he liked to teach others and coach them on wine purchases especially while being a tour guide in Italy. He had a great sense of humor that was as dry as the wine he drank. He always kept in contact with friends, old neighbors, acquaintances and co-workers. Most of all he was a great provider for his family. He was a husband of 51 years to Christine, father to Scott & Matthew, father-in-law to Melissa & Joanna, grandfather “Poppy” to Alexis, Sophia, Megan, and Carter. In everything he did he left a little piece of himself with the people he touched which will always be felt and missed. We will always love you! A private Mass of Christian burial will be held at a later date. The family requests any charitable donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul of Bradenton, Florida: www.svdp-manatee.org
