Robert Waldron Fletcher returned to his heavenly home on July 11, 2017, at the age of 85. He was born on March 26, 1932, to Calvin and Irene (Thompson) Fletcher.
He was the 12th of 14 children and grew up in Logan, Utah. In 1952, he began a three-year LDS mission to Japan. Upon his return, he finished his degree in Engineering Technology at Utah State Agricultural College. There he met and married his eternal companion, Margaret Bennett.
During the Berlin Crisis, Robert was called to active duty. After his service, he finished his education with a masters in fine art. His career reflected a love of teaching. He taught art at Mt. Ogden Jr. High, and he worked for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind.
Robert went into private practice to helping children and adults with learning disabilities, using his own innovative and artistic approach. His theories and therapies have been taught to hundreds and have benefited thousands.
Robert was a loving husband and father, teaching his eight children a love of learning, art, music, fishing and the Gospel.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; and his children: Glenn (Denise), Kate (Martin) Buck, Trusie, Roberta (Doug) Clarke, Denise (Nathan) Call, Mark (Heidi), Jared (Carolyn) and Diana (Chris) Elexpuru. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph; and sisters: Margaret Marshall and Beth Snow; and 31 grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Country Hills Ward Chapel, 1401 Country Hills Dr., and the funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Interment at the Ogden Cemetery.
