The Dowager Countess of Erroll died on Saturday at her residence, Royal Cottage, Kew, in her 88th year. She was the eldest daughter of the Hon. Sir Charles Gore and granddaughter of the second Earl of Arran, and married in 1848, the 18th Earl of Erroll, who died in 1891. The present Earl is the eldest son of the marriage. Lady Erroll was a Lady-in-Waiting to Queen Victoria and a member of the Order of Victoria and Albert.

The funeral took place at Richmond on Saturday afternoon of the Dowager Countess of Erroll, and was preceded by a service at Kew Parish Church. The services at the church and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. A. Ogilvy and the Rev. S. Goldney. The chief mourners were the Earl of Erroll, Major the Honn. Arthur Hay, Captain G. A. and Lady Cecilia Webbe, Lady Florence Gordon, Colonel Charles Gore, and Colonel F. Gore. The King and Queen were represented by Viscount Allendale, and Princess Henry of Battenberg was present. A wreath was sent by the King and Queen, who also sent a message of sympathy, in which their Majesties referred to the long services rendered by the late Countess to Queen Victoria.
