Gaylord J. Welch, 72, of New Galilee died Monday, June 16, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born in Uniontown, PA on June 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Lee Roy and Lucetta Isaphene Fellure Welch. He was a retired Engineer with Norfolk Southern.
He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Shirley Baker Welch; his daughters, Wilma Xenakis and her husband Michael, OH and Margorie Bires, OH; his step-daughters, Paula Potoka and her husband Steven, and Pamela Hill; his sons, Roy Welch and his companion, Nancy, OH and Michael Welch and his wife Carla, OH; his step-sons, Ray Eicher and Randy Eicher and his wife Kathy; his brothers, Lee Roy Welch, NC and Cecil Welch and his wife Verna, WV.; his sisters, Louella Cotrill, NC, Myrna Rillon and her husband Tony, OH; three grand-daughters, Nicole Amill, Michelle (Welch) Merando and Daveen Bires; step-granddaughters, Alexis and Christina Xenakis, Carly, Trista and Shawnee; two great-grandsons, Logan Amill and Daniel (Amill) Carter; a step-great-granddaugher, Alyse and a step-great-great granddaughter, Makayla.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Edna Williams and three grandchildren Samantha, Roy and James.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, INC., 3500 Third Avenue, Koppel, www.gabauermatterfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am with Rev. Lee Bittner officiating.
Interment will follow at the Rocky Springs Cemetery.
