Mr. Dewey Melvin Hamaker, age 62, of Union Grove passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Hospice Family Care.
Mr. Hamaker was born on July 26, 1956 in Madison County to Melvin Edward Hamaker & Lillie Geraldine Rogers Hamaker. He was a member of the Trail of Tears and served as a Board Member. Enjoyed Taekwondo and had earned his black belt. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Mr. Hamaker is a U.S. Marines veteran. He attended Liberty Church.
Mr. Hamaker is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Mae Hamilton Hamaker; daughters & son-in-law, Tina Hamaker, Felicia Maynor & Charlie; sons, David Michael Hamaker, Danny Hamaker; daughter-in-law, Tonya Hamaker; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Anette Horsley, Cemmie Brady, Rosa Hamaker. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Edward Hamaker & Lillie Geraldine Rogers Hamaker.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 28, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Pierce, officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn Chapel, Morgan City & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 28, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn Chapel, Morgan City.
