Nancy Lee Christensen Kramer
Nancy passed away peacefully on July 6, 2013 surrounded by family. She was born on February 4, 1935 in Cheyenne, WY to Dean and Edna Christensen. Nancy married her eternal companion, Ralph, in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1955 and together they raised six children.
She graduated from South High and attended BYU, but was an avid Utah fan. Mom cherished her friendships as dearly as family. She is the first to pass of her dear friends from "Club", and her group of married couples that have been attending events together for 58 years. She loved spending time and playing games with her family at Bear Lake and St. George.
Mom was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently in her many church callings.
She loved to quilt and was a member of the Utah Quilt Guild. She lovingly made each of her children and grandchildren a cherished quilt. In her later years Mom enjoyed creating homemade cards. Nancy has left us with many wonderful memories and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband Ralph, of 58 years; her children, Marshall, Denise (Gary) Jones, Blake (Wendy), Drew (Machele), Karalee (Blaine) Olson, Garrett (Nichole), her sister Dale Jean Martinez, sister-in-law Adri Ann Christensen, brother-in-law Derek Short, 16 grandchildren, her 2 M & M's, 3 great grand-daughters, and Thabo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Barbara Reynolds and Connie Short, her brother Bud Christensen, and nephew Kirk Short.
We wish to thank the following for the care they provided for Mom. The Kidney Foundation, The Transplant Team at LDS Hospital, The Doctors and staff at Huntsman Cancer Center, U of U Hospital, Intermountain Medical Center, Nephrology and Associates, Home Healthcare, and the loving kindness she received at Care Source.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Holladay 24th Ward, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East). A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, July 10, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East and on Thursday morning from 10:30 am to 11:30 am prior to services at the church. Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates.
For 17 years, Mom and her sister Connie volunteered for research for Polycystic Kidney & Liver Disease.
In lieu of flowers, please consider becoming a donor as we were given 11+ years with Mom after receiving the Gift of Life from a close friend.
