Edwin was born to Theresa "Tressie" Flickinger and Vernon Bixler in 1913.

He died in infancy at the age of one month and 14 days of pyemia (blood poisoning).

Edwin's death certificate states that he is buried in the former Hope Evangelical Cemetery. However, all records from Hope Evangelical were destroyed in a fire. Members of the Genealogical Society walked the section of Lakewood that was formerly Hope and logged every marked grave. Because Hope did not have a designated baby section, it is highly likely that Edwin was buried in the Flickinger family plot but there is no way to confirm.
