Geneva E. Fischer, 91, of Tipton passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Moniteau Care Center in California, Missouri.

She was born February 8, 1925, at Otterville, a daughter of Joseph F. and Emma Hainen Gerke. On September 25, 1946, at Clifton City, she was married to Roger C. Fischer. He died September 28, 1980.

Mrs. Fischer graduated from Smithton High School, was a homemaker, farm wife, office manager at The Tipton Times and worked for a short while at the Tipton Pants Factory. She was active in the Tipton Chamber of Commerce, and after retirement in the Tipton Nutrition Center, having served on the board, and the Moniteau County OATS program. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the church Alter Society and the Tipton Council Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, writing and clipping articles for the church history.

Surviving are three sons, Jerry Fischer, Golden, Colo., Ben Fischer with his wife, Paulette, California, and Tony Fischer with his wife, Shelly, Louisville, Colo.; five grandchildren, Conan Fischer with his wife, Jean, Lakewood, Colo., Danica Fischer with the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, Alex Hanson with her husband, Stephen, St. Peters, Leslie Cresswell with her husband, Caleb, Erie, Colo., and Rachael Fischer, Lafayette, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren, Torin, Claire, and Lillian Fischer and Aurora Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter-in-law, Judy Fischer; eight brothers, Emil Gerke, Leo Gerke, Andrew Gerke, William Gerke, Anton Gerke, Clarence Gerke, T.L. Gerke, and Peter Gerke,; and three sisters, Lorene Gerke, Lucille Gerke and Mary Gerke.

The rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, followed by visitation until 7:00 p.m. both at St. Andrew Church, Tipton.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 8 at St. Andrew Church with Fr. Fredrick Elskamp officiating.

Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery. Grandchildren and members of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The family suggests memorials to the Tipton Nutrition Center.
