Thora Christensen Behling, 88, of Payson, Utah passed away on March 10, 2018. Thora was born on July 18, 1929 in Tremonton, Utah to her loving parents Joseph William Christensen and Florence Johnson. Thora married the love of her life Rex Lee Behling on July 21, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. Together they had 8 children they loved and adored.

Thora graduated from Snow College with an Associate’s degree. She served a full time LDS mission with her husband to Western Samoa where her love for the gospel grew. Thora was a devoted homemaker and mother who loved to serve those around her. She loved being a part of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving as a temple worker and cherished being a grandmother. She is so proud of her grandchildren serving full time missions: Sophie Behling, Shalea Miller and Kurtis Thatcher; and great-grandson Michael Abbott .

Thora is survived by 7 of her children; Linda (Gary) Abbott (Payson), LeAnn (Rod) Newman (Spring Lake), Laura Schroeder (Panguitch), Richard (Christine) Behling (Spring Lake), Thora Lisa (Gordon) Thatcher (Arizona), Joseph (Holly) Behling (Ammon) and Leah (Shane) Miller (Eagle Mountain); 39 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 6 more on the way, her brother William “Bill” Christensen (Provo) and a Son in law Ray Balhorn. She is preceded in death by her husband Rex Lee Behling, a daughter Lois Balhorn, granddaughter Penny Schroeder and grandson Kenneth Abbott.

The family would like to thank the Elkridge Assisted Living Staff, Canyon Hospice Nurses, Marcella, Heather, and grandchildren for the wonderful care and support they gave to Thora.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 located at the Mt. Nebo Stake Center 608 West 1400 South Payson, Utah. Friends and family may visit Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home 587 South 100 West Payson, Utah and from 9:45-10:45 prior to funeral services.
