Mary Kathleen "Kate" Lorenz, 98, of Liberty, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at the Pristine Senior Living of Oxford.

Kate was born in Union County on June 20, 1919, to Albert P. and Elizabeth L. Reisert Geis. She was a graduate of Short High School 1938. On August 13, 1941, Kate was united in marriage with Robert J. Lorenz. She was employed as a nurse's aide at Elsie Dryers Nursing Home in Brookville for seven years and was employed for seventeen years at Brookville Healthcare Center. Kate was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Liberty. She loved spending time with her family and reading.

Kate is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Judith Webb and James Shaw of Oxford, and Debbie Dilatush and Tom of Paradise, Utah; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of forty-three years, who died on August 14,1984, Kate was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter: Diann Vecera; her siblings: Charles Geis, Robert Geis, Thelma Dierckman, Francis Geis, Carolyn Huff.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church 404 E. Vine Street, Liberty with Father John Luerman officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
