Bishop, Richard Francis, was born on Feb 3, 1931 and fell peacefully asleep in the Lord on Aug 30, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late George Victor and Margaret Ellen Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann Bishop (nee McGee), and six children, Laurel Ann Greendyk, Barbara Ellen Sorensen, Richard Francis Bishop, Jr., George Thomas Bishop, Patricia Claire Soo-Hoo, and Jonathan William Bishop, 12 grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

Richard graduated from the University of Georgia in 1960, where he met his wife, and earned a master's degree form the University of Michigan in 1961. Richard retired from Solae at the age of 70, and was an active and cherished volunteer for the VA, Alcoholics Anonymous, and the prison ministry for his local church in Missouri. Richard has a beautiful singing voice, and was also an accomplished pianist, entertaining his family and many other with his lovely jazz renditions of well-known melodies. He was an avid gardener, and worked tirelessly in his beautiful, manicured garden. He was also a boisterous fan of the NY Giants football team.

Services: A memorial celebration will be held on Saturday, October 7, from 2-6 p.m. at the FAMILY CENTER at SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Missouri. On Sunday, October 8 at 9:30 a.m., prayers will be said in Richard's memory at a worship service at All Saints of North America Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2550 Schuetz Rd, Maryland Heights, Missouri.
